R.I.P. - Lou Reed

If you've turned on the internet today, and you obviously have, you'll have learned that one of rock and roll's greatest artists, Lou Reed, has passed away at age of 71. He who has inspired some of music's most inspiring artists, including but not limited to greats like Iggy Pop, David Bowie, The Ramones and Blondie, Reed will leave behind a legacy that very few, if any, can touch. It truly is a sad day for not only rock and roll music but the idealisms of art as a whole. Reed never let anything get in the way of artistic integrity and while it made him notoriously difficult to work with, it also helped set the standard that many artists live by and many, many more only claim to live by. Below I have two songs posted, the first of Lou's that I remember hearing and a track from one his later, more unheralded(and in my opinion vastly underrated) records, 1996's "Set The Twilight Reeling." Listen to these, along with your favorites but also dig around and see if you can find some unknown gems as well. I guarantee you won't be sorry. Rest In Peace, Lou. And thank you.
