Holy shit rock n roll! Every once in a while you bless us with a gem worthy of a thousand headbangs and give us full confirmation that selling our souls for you was indeed the right thing to do. Pittsburgh's Carousel just released their first full length entitled Jewelers Daughters on TeePee Records this week and it is a twin guitar onslaught of neck breaking awesome. One cup of coffee didn't do it this morning? Crank this. Feel like you'll be judged for slipping that shot of whiskey into said coffee? Crank this. Need to call your boss to tell him its Friday and you just don't give a fuck anymore? Crank this. He'll get the picture. Hell, he might even join you! Now you have a drinking partner, all thanks to Carousel. In the vein of Thin Lizzy or early Maiden if you need a comparison but I would venture to suggest that they've listened to their fair share of punk rock growing up as well and it's those influences that really bring that little extra bit of energy to the album. No tour dates that I can find as of yet but I imagine that'll change soon enough. Go buy this record and thank me later for soundtracking your weekend, your summer and if you're wise enough, your life.
