Brooklyn's Naam have just released their new album Vow on TeePee Records and while admittedly I wasn't the hugest fan of their earlier recordings I'm digging this record. Between the super psyched out synth jams that dominate Vow there's some pretty solid riffs, the likes of which I found myself wishing for during previous visits to the Naam catalog. Saw them a couple years ago and having them sandwiched between legendary space rock headliners Monster Magnet and first openers/now defunct but personal fav Quest For Fire didn't do much to pique my interest either so if this new batch of tracks can translate to the stage it certainly wouldn't be a stretch to see these guys landing more favorable time slots (by my multifarious standards anyway) on stages around the globe soon. Glad I checked this out one. I like bands that persevere through my stubbornness, even if they don't know they're doing it.
