The never ending rock and roll juggernaut that is the Rolling Stones has been all up in my bidness the last couple days. First, with the announcement that an 18 show tour is in the final stages of getting put together. And with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the London and New York "50 and Counting" shows they did in December, not to mention their appearance at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit, this announcement should hardly come as a surprise. Brace yourself for a million 'they're too old' jokes and jealous mutterings from pretty much everybody who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. Second, today it was announced that Mick, Keith and Co. would be (presumably) headlining the mammoth UK festival known as Glastonbury. About a gazillion people attend that festival every summer so you can take a moment to imagine what that many people singing along to "You Can't Always Get What You Want" will sound like. Almost ironic, isn't it? Third, in my day to day putting around, I came across two different Stones cover that I both found intriguing. Throw in Jane's Addiction 'Sympathy' and you have a quality blog post to keep you busy for about ten minutes. Boom. Done.
