Morning Hype! - Mad Season ft. Mark Lanegan

Mad Season wasn't necessarily a supergroup per se, although if you were into the Seattle scene circa 1994 it most certainly would've seemed like it. The outfit included members of Alice in Chains (vocalist Layne Staley), Pearl Jam (guitarist Mike McCready), and the Screaming Trees (drummer Barrett Martin), as well as the only non-Seattle based musician, bassist John Baker Saunders and were originally called The Gacy Bunch before changing to Mad Season, a term used for when magic mushrooms are in season. They released one album, Above,  and seemingly really tried to make something of it, but other bands priorities and drugs took precedent, and the one album would be their final offering. Well, it's getting a re-release this April, and on it are a couple of tracks featuring the vocal stylings of Mr. Mark Lanegan, he of  Screaming Trees, QOTSA and The Mark Lanegan Band fame. Here is the first of the previously unreleased tracks. Pretty cool to see it standing up to the test of time... [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsrfAKOgKB0&w=420&h=315]
