If anyone knows sensationalism, its the U.K. music press. Every young, drunk, shaggy headed band of lads that forms and actually lands a gig are about to save
rock and roll the world. So far, neither has happened. There was definitely more than one prediction that The Strokes were going to do it, with the White Stripes helping out by riding in on their coattails. Oops. And that junkie that fronted The Libertines? Key word was junkie. But NME has continued the trend, hailing Best of Friends as their Track of the Year and I have to admit, it's pretty damn catchy. World saving catchy? I doubt it. But they're not a boy band and they're not a MacBook D.J. so maybe, just maybe, they can pitch in and help save our beloved rock and roll. Just need to release more than one single in 2013. No biggie...
